1. Processing Time
- Orders are processed within 1–3 business days.
- Custom orders, resizing, or made-to-order pieces may require additional processing time. We will notify you of the expected timeline at checkout or via email.
2. Shipping Methods & Delivery Time
We offer the following shipping options:
Within Sri Lanka
- Standard Delivery: 2–5 business days
- Express Delivery: 1–2 business days
- Same-day Delivery (Colombo 1–15): Available for selected items; charges apply
Delivery timelines may vary based on courier availability, weather conditions, or public holidays.
International Shipping
- Available to selected countries.
- Delivery time varies by destination (typically 7–14 business days).
- Customs duties, taxes, and import fees (if applicable) must be paid by the recipient.
3. Shipping Fees
- Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on location and delivery method.
- Free shipping promotions (when available) will be clearly communicated on our Site.
4. Order Tracking
Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a Shipping Confirmation Email with:
- Tracking number
- Courier details
- Estimated delivery window
If you did not receive your tracking details, contact info@alankara.lk.
5. Delivery Requirements
Because our products are valuable, most shipments require:
- A signature upon delivery
- A valid NIC/passport/driver's license for verification (in Sri Lanka)
If the courier fails to deliver, they will attempt redelivery or contact you directly.
6. Packaging & Security
Every Alankara order is packed with:
- Tamper-proof packaging
- Protective jewelry boxes
- Secure, discreet outer packaging (no jewelry branding)
We do this to protect your privacy and reduce theft risk.
7. Order Issues
Contact us immediately if:
- Your package is delayed
- The tracking number isn't updating
- The packaging arrives tampered with
- You receive the wrong item

Claims for missing or damaged packages must be made within 48 hours of receiving the item.
8. Pre-Orders, Backorders & Made-to-Order
If your product is
- Made to order,
- Being resized, or
- On backorder,
the expected delivery timeline will be shared before payment. These items cannot be shipped until production is complete.
9. Shipping Restrictions
We do not ship to:
- P.O. Boxes
- Freight forwarding companies
- Restricted countries due to customs or insurance limitations
10. International Duties & Taxes
- Import taxes, VAT, customs duties, and handling fees vary by country.
- These charges are not included in the product price or shipping cost.
- They must be paid by the recipient upon arrival.
11. Failed Deliveries / Return to Sender
If a package is returned to us because the address provided was incorrect, the courier could not reach you, or delivery was refused, the customer will be responsible for re-shipping fees.
